The interactive lesson plans come with videos with International Hockey Coach, Jamie Kingstone taking you through the lesson with some of his youth academy players. Along with the lessons you’ll receive a series of activity cards and technique posters to engage students in their learning. The Hockey Fundamental Scheme of Work is the second of five levels of the Performance Pathways Hockey Curriculum, making it ideal for students new to the game of Hockey. **THE LESSONS ** Dribbling: The ‘Indian’ Dribble Students will learn to perform the ‘Indian’ dribble before using the skill to change direction while dribbling. Passing: The Push Pass Students will learn to perform the push pass before practicing the skill as a team within a game situation to maintain possession of the ball. Receiving: Across the Body Students will learn to receive the ball across the body before using this skill to pass and receive the ball whilst moving. Defending: The Reverse Stick Block Students will learn to perform the reverse stick block in order to be strong defenders on their weaker side. Shooting: Deflections Students will learn to perform deflections in front of the goal to create scoring opportunities. Game Play: Attacking the Right Side Students will be encouraged to attack the right side of the pitch through game play to learn basic game tactics.

The Hockey Foundations Scheme of Work provided a 6-week scheme of work for upper primary school students being introduced to Hockey. Along with the lessons you’ll receive a series of activity cards and technique posters to engage students in their learning. The Hockey Foundations Scheme of Work is the first of five levels of the Performance Pathways Hockey Curriculum, making it ideal for introducing students to the game of Hockey. THE LESSONS Dribbling: Forehand Control Students will learn to grip the stick and dribble with the ball under control and in contract with their stick. Passing: Tick Tap Passing Students will be introduced to the ‘tick tap’ pass and learn to make accurate passes over short distances. Receiving: Wide-Based Receive Students will learn to receive the ball using a wide-based receive before progressing to practice receiving the ball whilst moving. Defending: The Block Students will learn to perform a basic block tackle as well as how to position their feet in order to make a strong tackle on the forehand. Shooting: The Forehand Finish Students will learn to perform a basic forehand finish as well as how to create space to receive the ball to create scoring opportunities. Game Play: Playing with Width Students use game play to learn how to use height and width when playing matches.

Along with the lessons you’ll receive a series of activity cards and peer assessment resources to engage students in their learning. The Rugby Development Scheme of Work is the third or five level of the Performance Pathways Rugby Curriculum, making it ideal for students transferring their fundamental movement skills into the game of Rugby. THE LESSONS Evasion: Finding Space Students will develop their acceleration and deceleration skills in order to avoid contact and find space to attack. Handling: Ball Mastery Students will develop their passing and catching skills to quickly pass the ball between attackers. Team Attack: Support Around the Ball Students will explore the shape of support around the ball carrier and how to maintain possession during an attacking play. Team Defence: The Safe Tackle Students will develop their 1v1 contact skills and be introduced to the safe tackle. Contact Skills: 3v3 Contact Scenarios Students will develop confidence in 3v3 contact scenarios to gain possession of the ball. Game Awareness: Small-Sided Contact Games Students will develop their understanding of contact through playing in a range of small-sided games.
